IBPA-Scholarship

IB MISSION: To develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.

This mission is met through shared academic and community service experiences in 3000 IB World Schools in 129 countries.

IB PURPOSE: to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who become active, lifelong learners.

Students who complete the IB curriculum demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and the discipline necessary to be successful in college and in life.

OUR PROGRAM: 

• Lakewood High School graduated its first International Baccalaureate (IB) class in 1999, with 28 candidates.

• In May, the IB class of 2010 graduated with 105 candidates for the full IB Diploma.

• Over the past eleven years, 1007 students completed the program with a 92% pass rate earning their IB diploma.

• Begun in 1995,  our program draws students from all over Jefferson County.
