Mathematics

Welcome!

The Lakewood High School Mathematics Department wants all students to gain comfort and competence in math. Our goal is to give all students an appreciation for the usefulness of math in meeting the challenges of the 21st century.

Not all students bring the same level of ability, interest, or grounding to high school, however. For this reason, the department offers classes and individual instruction that will help students get up to speed. Strong math students can take advantage of AP math classes, and the Math Department participates in the IB program, as well.

The department also encourages participation in the Colorado Math League competitions, and other activities. Math can be fun! But sometimes it takes a little extra effort to make it so.
