Business

Our Vision Is...

To create a dynamic and impressive environment that challenges the LHS diverse learning communities to develop skills and apply knowledge in order to prepare for a successful future.

Why take classes in the Business/Technology Department? Everyone has different reasons. Here are a few that might make sense to you:
  • I am an entrepreneurial kind of person. I see the world in business terms and I want to get as much business knowledge as I can as soon as possible so that I can start my own business.
  • My family runs its own business and I want to help.
  • I need word processing and other software skills for school. All my friends know how to use Word and PowerPoint and other software. I want to use these tools too.
  • I've got my eye on a summer job that needs some of these skills.
  • It's easier for me to write essays and solve math problems when they're real-world oriented. I like practical applications of English and math.

Business is an activity that taps into all your knowledge and skills. In our department, this is reflected by our close ties with the English Department, the Math Department, and the Computer Science Department.
